The Origin B2, much like any GPS detector, operates by alerting the driver to all fixed speed trap cameras via a database collated from a series of satellites. The system warns of all fixed safety cameras including SPECS, Truvelo, Gatso and DS2 Speedmaster, many of which standard RLD cannot detect. It also comes with a laser detection system as standard which will alert the driver to all mobile laser speed traps.

Alerts are also available for accident blackspots as well as user defined, personal locations; all of which can be switched off at any time.

The unit itself is extremely discreet, small and light with a large, high resolution 128 x 64 pixel backlit display screen. The highly advanced LCD screen will, when in range, also display the type and direction of the speed trap as well as alerting the driver audibly (with voice and 'beep') and visually to any oncoming speed traps or hazards.

The product must be registered before downloads can be performed. There is an initial 6 months free subscription with every unit and thereafter the charge is £50 a year
